Green Feeds employs an innovative approach to biowaste management by harnessing the power of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, in addition to drying and hydrolysation. These larvae are highly efficient at converting organic waste into high-quality animal feed protein and frass fertilizer, which significantly reduces the amount of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or be wastefully burnt. By utilizing biowaste in this manner, Green Feeds can address the issue of waste disposal while simultaneously creating a valuable resource whilst remaining carbon neutral or positive.

Once the larvae mature, they are processed into sustainable, protein-rich animal feed. This contributes to a more affordable option for local farmers, who can rely on locally-produced feed instead of costly imports.

Similarly, Frass fertilizer, derived from insect waste, is rich in nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, promoting healthy plant growth and improving soil fertility. Its natural composition enhances microbial activity in the soil. Frass fertilizer can also help plants develop resistance to pests and fungi. It contains chitin, a compound found in insect exoskeletons, which stimulates plants’ natural defense mechanisms, making them more resilient to pests and fungal infections, and it is an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic fertilizers while supporting sustainable agriculture.

By offering a cost-effective and sustainable alternative, Green Feeds not only helps farmers improve their margins but also strengthens the local agricultural economy by reducing dependency on external sources.
